1955 Triumph Tiger T110

12,000.00

The Triumph Tiger T110 was the hottest motorcycle of its time. Initially developed from the Thunderbird - the motorcycle made famous by Marlon Brando in The Wild One - the T110 bears stylistic resemblance to its predecessor, but engineered with a new fury of power. It was only usurped in appeal and performance by its own successor, the Tiger TR6.

In true Triumph fashion, every year improvements were made to the Tiger model. In 1955 the 650cc parallel twin had its compression bumped up to 8.5:1 with new E3325 cams installed. In order to assist with the increased heat of the cast iron heads a fifth fin was added, and the entire kickstart mechanism was converted to nickel-steel chrome in order to cope with the new compression load.

Previous Tiger models bore the name “T100” due to their ability to do the 100mph “ton up,” and in a marketing move the T110 was given its title with an implied top-speed increase (and a 125mph capped speedo to match). Despite the name - the top documented speed for a T110 was only 109mph.

We have put the hours and effort into ensuring that this motorcycle starts, runs, and rides with all of the dignity it deserves - while still honoring its originality. We’ve gone through every portion of the drive train. Most recently we replaced the main jet, given it a brand new battery, and swapped the petcocks. True to character - the bike still leaks small amounts of engine and gear oil.

This is your chance to ride like Brando. Available now for purchase!
